Each carries its own education, standards, language, and hard-won expertise. Ettle does not flatten those differences. It brings them into conversation.
The National Academies describes this kind of work as “teaming across boundaries”: bringing different expertise and educational backgrounds into closer exchange.

By bringing nine healthcare fields into one community, Ettle gives students a broader view before they make consequential decisions about prerequisites, programs, tuition, and professional direction. They can learn how people in different fields think, what their education involves, what their work can look like, and where their own strengths and interests may fit.

For working professionals
A career can extend far beyond one familiar professional circle.
Daily work naturally draws attention toward an immediate team, responsibilities, institution, and community. Yet valuable ideas are always taking shape elsewhere—in another discipline, setting, region, or stage of a career.
Ettle gives working professionals a way to look beyond familiar circles without leaving their expertise behind. They can exchange practical knowledge, follow changing research, discover resources, explore leadership or new directions, and see how others are approaching challenges they recognize.
A wider professional circle can reveal possibilities that one workplace cannot.
For retired professionals
Retirement can loosen the boundaries around a lifetime of expertise.
Without the demands of a schedule, employer, or formal role, retired professionals may have greater freedom to follow their curiosity across disciplines, revisit interests that were set aside, and contribute when—and how—they choose.
They carry more than answers. They carry context: why practices changed, what has been tried before, what did not work, what endured, and which supposedly new challenges have appeared in another form. At the same time, Ettle gives them a way to remain close to the research, technology, questions, and people now reshaping their fields.
Participation does not have to become another obligation. It might be a story, a thoughtful question, a useful introduction, a resource remembered at the right moment—or simply the pleasure of continuing to learn.
Retired professionals also carry insight into the transition itself. Someone approaching the later years of a career can hear how others recognized the right time, stepped away gradually or all at once, adjusted to life beyond a familiar role, and discovered what came next.
There is no single right age or perfect path into retirement. But there is value in hearing what others gained, what they missed, what surprised them, and what they wish they had understood before beginning that next chapter.
We speak often about finding a way into a profession. There should also be room to talk about finding one's way beyond it.
